Department Overview:
The Rincon Valley Fire District serves a community nestled against the Saguaro National Park and
the Rincon Mountain Range on the southeast side of Tucson, AZ. The district has experienced
significant growth over the last several years.

The Rincon Valley Fire District was formed in 1985 by residents of the southeast metropolitan
Tucson area to ensure that the community received consistent, high-quality emergency services at
a reasonable cost. Since its inception, the district has provided fire protection and emergency
medical services to a rapidly growing community. This has led to our organization adopting an “allhazards”
approach to service delivery. This means that apart from the wide range of nonemergency
services provided, such as fire prevention and snake removals, the district also
provides fire protection, emergency medical services, hazardous materials response, technical
rescue, and wildland response.

The district currently provides emergency and community services to over 20,000 residents in a
370-square-mile response area. Rincon Valley Fire District personnel responded to 2,791 calls in
2023 from two strategically located fire stations staffed daily with 15 operations team members.
This team is supported by five administrative and support personnel, all aiming to prepare,
prevent, and protect our community from harm.
